West Jakarta Government Ensures Inundation Handling on Jalan Satu Maret

West Jakarta Government is ensuring the inundation on Jalan Satu Maret and up to Jalan Peta Utara, Pegadungan Urban Village, Kalideres.

filled with mud and trash

West Jakarta Mayor, Iin Mutmainnah explained the beginning of the problem comes from a clogged drain.

Gropetian Edu Park Officially Opens to the Public

"The channel, which crosses five neighborhood units (RW), is filled with mud and trash. This condition surely causes water to overflow onto the road," she said, Friday (3/6).

Furthermore, Iin found that some roads had concave contours, exacerbating the flooding. Furthermore, the large amount of garbage piled up in the drains also caused overflowing water, emitting a foul odor into the surrounding area.

As a follow-up, Iin confirmed that officers from the West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency, Public Works, together with the Pegadungan Urban Village PPSU, carried out draining and normalizing the drainage function.

"We will also carry out repairs and raise the road, after the PAM Jaya clean water pipe network installation project in the area is completed," she admitted.

Senior Manager of UPL PAM Jaya, Ferdian Avrizal, said that this is a clean water installation project for residents, in accordance with the governor's direct instructions.

"The project being run on Jalan Satu Maret is targeted for completion in the end of April," he stated.
